The Muscular System of The Green Hydra
Hydra viridissima, better known as the Green Hydra is a small seaweed like organism found in the temperate regions of the world's oceans. The Green Hydra uses its muscles in two main ways.
The first way muscles are used by the Green Hydra is for protection from predators. They will attach themselves to the stems of sea plants using their tentacles. This helps they blend in with environment. Green Hydras also protect themselves by retracting their bodies when they feel threatened. By doing this they appear as a small green blob that predators will over look. The second way their muscles are used is when Green Hydras look to get their own food. They will extend their tentacles to be the length of their body. They then use the muscles in their tentacles to get their food.
